Dealtree is the company Best Buy uses for their Trade In program and it's a scam.
I submitted a fully functioning, perfect condition laptop. Shipped via UPS in a large box stuffed to the brim and secured with bubble wrap. I have pictures of the laptop in perfect condition before I shipped it to them. They now claim "Front of computer broken" which doesn't exactly make much sense when talking about a laptop. They refuse to return calls or emails and have yet to provide me with any pictures or other evidence of damage. They just say it's broken and I think they are lying. If the laptop is damaged, it likely occurred at Dealtree's warehouse. If it had somehow occurred during transport (which is unlikely given that UPS delivered it and isn't known for being callous with their shipments), a claim can be made. Since I have not received any call backs from Dealtree or have any way to resolve this, I'm posting a complaint on BBB in the hopes that others who use Best Buy's buyback program has fair warning that these people are scammers.
