I have been using Apple products for 15 years and have used MS products since DOS days. I have dealt with Dell, HP, Compaq and IBM for hardware and even with Intel. The last two purchases of Apple products I have made were a 15" MacBook Pro and Apple TV, both about 6 months ago. Anytime I have purchased an Apple product, I have also bought the Applecare extended warranty. Although the Apple products are not flawless, my experience with Apple and its customer service people has been outstanding. Any issue I have had has been promptly addressed and remedied. My view is that computers should just work. That is what Apple products have provided for me. Consequently, I have recommended, when asked, that family and friends buy Apple products or at least consider them when looking for new computers. I thought I would add my comments to this list because I believe that it is important to speak about what works well and not only about what doesn't.
