After reading the other reviews I was very hesitant to but from them. I finally decided to give them one chance because they had an item I couldn't find with another company. Well it turns out everyone was correct. This company just STINKS! I have been overly nice to them and have only been treated like a number. I originally purchased from them on Feb. 11 2011, and it is now March 29 2011 and at this point the unit is at their location being repaired! They sent me a defective unit, the pre amps do not send a signal to the amp, and I was required to pay 18 dollars to ship it back to them. They won't even be sending me a new one, they said they will have it sent to be repaired. The item is BRAND new, I paid for a brand new one. Not one that was broken and needs to be fixed! They send a defective unit so I'm required to pay for the shipping to send it back?! You think as a responsible company they would check items that cost over 400 dollars. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME, PAY THE EXTRA 10 OR 20 BUCKS WITH Sonic Electronix or Crutchfield.
UPDATE: William told me to get a tracking number so I could let him know when they got the package, so he could help speed up the process. I called him to let him know it was there and he told me it has to go through a normal process now. WHY DID I PAY EXTRA FOR THE TRACKING NUMBER THEN????? I now have a complaint filed to get a new one. Isn't there a lemon law or something? William has further lied more saying they did not get my device back but I have proof with the tracking number that they have had it for days and done nothing! William has also lied about the return time saying it was only a few days. I have proof, I have print screens of my orders showing that it took a whole month!! Anyone that wants to see it just let me know!
**UPDATE**: They have now had my device for 7 days and a new one has not been shipped out, as I was told it would be. Also I received an email saying it was going to be repaired and could take up to 8 weeks. I called and asked about it and they said it just a "generic email" and I would still be getting a new one, we'll see. Also, after further research I noticed that when I did the exchange for a higher priced unit, they took away the discount I received from entering in a coupon code. Why wouldn't I get to keep the same discount? So customers get their coupons/discounts taken away when doing an exchange. HORRIBLE COMPANY!! STAY AWAY!
**UPDATE**: onlinecarstereo said "In a case such as this we will be exchanging the unit for a new unit and the turnaround should be 7 days or less." It has now been 9 business days and I haven't gotten anything. Not even en email. I will be calling them on Monday to see if they have even processed it yet.
**UPDATE** It has now been 10 business days since they received the defective unit back. According to my complaint filed with the BBB, William said the new replacement unit would be sent out within 10 business days. Well it seems as though onlinecarstereo.com has lied again. I called them today to find out what was taking so long. I spoke with a different William this time and he said there were no notes about my conversations with the other William. I explained my situation and he said he would get in contact with the other William and they would get back to me. No ETA just a we will call you back. I just want my money back at this point. It has been 2 months now and I still don't have my dvd player. I take the time to write all of this because companies like this shouldn't be in business.
**UPDATE** As of today 4/25/2011 I have finally gotten a full refund minus the shipping costs. Don't bother with this company unless you want to end up like me.
