I signed up for what I thought was a "free trial offer" of IQ Derma's product. I was aware of a shipping charge of $3.95 that I authorized to be billed to my credit card. To my complete surprise, when the product arrived,the cover letter stated:
- I would be billed for this "free trial product" a price of $96.35 on 1/24/08 unless I returned the "free product".
- I would automatically receive a subscription to Derma IQ every 60 days and billed again $96.35 to my credit card.
- If you call for a "return authorization" they must receive the returned product within 14 day; or no refund.
My issue with this fraudulent tactic:
- The pop up ad did not explain any of the above.
- The product is not "Free"; they bill you at the end of the month. I did not authorize this charge of $96; only the $3.95 shipping charge.
- I certainly did not authorize/order a subscription of $96 every 60 days.
-I'm returning the product (unused) with a signature required at the IQ Derma end.
This type of fraudulent tactic is extremely upsetting to me and I think their BBB rating should be lowered. They should also pull down the ad until it's clear and pay for return postage.
