This company should be shut down for consumer fraud. I wish I had never heard of eTech Silicon Valley. I got this company as a referral from a SearsPartsDirect operator. I needed to replace a charger adapter AD-1260 for a Craftsman rechargeable lantern. I called on 9-20-2010 about 8am PDT, to ask about the adapter end that plugs into the lantern because it was not shown in the picture on the website. What was shown – the part that plugs into a wall outlet- had the correct output that I needed, 12VDC 600mA. The guy said that there were several different end-styles and if the one I ordered was not correct, I could return it and get another. The part was $9.99 plus shipping @$7. I ordered the part online that morning. It arrived two days later – and it was the wrong end style. My nightmare begins. I called and was told to request an RMA online. I did and explained that I could send the original adapter if that would help to get the correct replacement. I started dealing with Reena on the phone. I sent both units back, shipping cost me $9. A week later I called to ask if the units were received and if they had a replacement to send back along with my original unit. I was told they were processing my request. I called back on Oct 8, Reena said the unit was on back-order. I asked how long – she suggested about 3 weeks. I called back on Nov. 9th and Reena was not available! Katrina said she was in a meeting. I tried again later same day, same story. I left a message with Katrina to tell Reena I needed to speak with her before she left the office for the day. Well, you can guess –no call back. Next day I called and Katrina said the unit was shipping out today, along with my original unit. I got them on Friday, 11-12-2010. The replacement unit is totally wrong. The plug-in end is too small for the lantern and the output of the adapter is only 500mA. I called to speak with Reena – right – she was not available, again!! I let Katrina have the full brunt of my anger and told her to pass the message on the Reena and to check out the BBB website. I have learned a very valuable lesson. Do the research on the company before ordering any merchandise online. I did not investigate the BBB on this company until 11-10-2010. I became very suspicious because of the lack of customer service. AVOID THIS COMPANY!!!! I spent over $17 on shipping for a unit costing $9.99 and will not return this wrong one again because it will cost another $7. WHAT A SCAM!!!! They could not even match up the original while they had it in their hands.!!! Rate this company lower than one star!!!!
