We had a WONDERFUL day on a boat provided by American Watersports. However this all came to an abrupt end when we returned to the location to pay. Originally, we agreed to fill up the gas tank ourselves to avoid paying the $65 pre-pay fee. (We knew that we would only use a tiny bit of gas) However, the only two gas stations in the area had run out of gas. The next closest station was on South Beach, and traveling there would have taken us past our rental time allowance. We returned to American Watersports, and the man on duty yelled NUMEROUS profanities at our mothers, young siblings, and fathers. We offered to go to a gas station and bring back gas, which was denied. Instead, we were required to pay $210 for 3 GALLONS of gas. Ridiculous! We were willing to pay the $65 original fee, but he even threatened us with charging the $3,000 security deposit. This employee even stated, "This is how we are a million dollar a year business. I can F*** people over if I want to." I actually feared that he would hit my boyfriend! Dozens of onlookers witnessed this altercation. I am extremely embarrassed that our families came to enjoy two graduations last weekend and to enjoy themselves, and the resulting memory is an assault and basic theft. The behavior was more than unconsionable, and American Watersports (a company that we loved and had rented from before) completely disappointed us and showed us the immoral and dangerous values that are held by its employees.
