Review 8/11/2009

BEWARE! This company is bogus! I went to their website to find if any information had been posted there regarding my grandfather who served during WWII. I paid for a one day pass to access the records. After hours had passed, I got a confirmation email saying that my "1-DAY access upgrade has been enabled on The G.I. Photograph Museum of Honor and Personnel Database." I logged into the account I had created and was still denied access. I read through the email several times to make sure that it didn't indicate that I was supposed to approach this upgraded service in another way and couldn't find any information that indicated this was the case. I then called the number provided (310 532-0634). An older man answered the phone. I indicated that I was having issues and he said "I guess you didn't read the email you were sent then, did you." And I explained that I had, at which point he hung up on me. Subsequent phone calls all went unanswered.
I then did some searching on the Internet and found out that other people had had the same issue. Any attempts to get assistance are met with hangups or else the phone goes straight to the recorded message.
I wish that I had taken the time to find this out BEFORE I had gone through all this hassle! I was just so excited about finding out about my grandfather (who died in 2000) that I don't think I was necessarily thinking. I am hoping that by writing this review I can help other people out there before they make the same mistake I made!
