I really feel Half.com has ALOT of improving to do on the business as a whole. I've been an internet shopper for many years. I've found ways over the years on improving the way I protect myself from internet fraud and bad sellers. A recent purchase of mine was made at half.com on January 2nd, 2009. I bought a xbox game for myself. After emailing the seller multiple times and having half.com say that the seller has till January 27th to get my item to me, I became furious! They gave the seller 1 month to ship my item and send it to me. I attempted email half.com themselves, the response I get...pre-written responses saying they have full faith in their sellers because they have a strict policy that says the seller MUST ship the item within 48 hours of payment. I finally called Half.com again and told them that I felt this seller whom has had my money for 1 month is getting more of a protection then I did, being that I am a buyer with 100% feedback for the past 10 years. She proceeded to tell me that I cannot file a claim till my month was up (on the 27th) and I would have to email him AGAIN because they didnt have my previous emails on file and then WAIT an additional 48 hours to file my claim. They said they dont keep certain emails because its not necessary. So it was never recorded that I even attempted to contact the seller. Not only does half.com NOT support Paypal payments that would have protected me in the first place, but they dont allow you to call the seller like ebay does even though they are a business owned by ebay. Not to mention the layout of the purchases, you buy your items all at once. Now I cant even file a claim with my credit card company because I purchased another game from someone else at the same time who actually shipped me their item. Needless to say, I'm not pleased. You might be protected in some ways with Half.com, but you have to wait a bit over a month to even consider trying to recieve some kind of justice. Not to mention, just trying to get customer support to email you back which the first time they promise within 2 days, I got my email back 5 days later with the speech of "your wrong and the seller is right". Half.com would benefit from allowing the option of sellers to pay with Paypal and provide additional protection for themselves and the buyer, PLUS is they also offer a more user friendly way of contacting them. I spent an hour just sorting through their so called buyer protection policy and help wizard to get a form so I could just voice a complaint to which they replay with an automated response. Also the option of allowing both the seller and or the buyer to contact each other once a set amount of time has passed.
