Is the Center for Legal Justice a scam?
|
11/5/2010 6:08 PM (PST)
I just received a call on my cell phone from Deborah Harrison with the Center of Legal Justice regarding me getting rid of my unsecured debt (credit cards). I have no idea how they got my number. She was very interested in helping me get out of debt with just paying monthly fees to the company as a "retainer fee". She proceeded to give me information about the process; 1st I would sign email forms related to retainer info, within 72 hours support staff would contact me, then 72 hours later an attorney would contact me. Is this a scam? Or a company trying to help consumers with actually getting rid of debt?

Hi Dawn,
I looked up the company's name and they are located in Florida but they claim to only be an attorney referral service, so I'm not even sure if that's the same company that contacted you. I can say, however, that based upon what you are saying it seems pretty sketchy. I also noticed another thread on here saying the same company contacted consumers wanting a retainer to help them take legal action against timeshare companies that have ripped off consumers. It sounds like a reloader scam to me and I'm betting that if you pay their retainer, you'll never see that money again. It's probably best you stay away.

To Whom It May Concern:
I have been working with Mr. Robert Moody, agent with "The Center For Legal Justice" & have found him to be a person who is honest, intelligent & caring. It is refreshing to find an agent who is more concerned about his customer than he is the dollar sign ! He has provided help for me, a retired person at no cost.
